Born and raised in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Chevez Sanchez Sr. hails from a family deeply rooted in community and social activism. A self-taught artist, his lifelong passion for drawing and illustration draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of early hip hop, sci-fi fantasy, comic book, and B-boy culture. With close to two decades in the apparel industry, Chevez has cultivated a diverse skill set in graphic design and digital media, all the while building an impressive portfolio of conceptual design.
Appearing in several Comic Conventions in the New York Area, Chevez is also a storyteller. He's currently spearheading the development of "Robots of Shaolin," a sci-fi/fantasy story. This multimedia project encompasses a novel, co-written by Mark Morales, as well as hundreds of paintings illustrated by Chevez... As a Graphic Designer with over a decade of experience, he's seen nearly every level of the apparel industry from floor management, graphic design, and print. He's also left his artistic imprint in music and magazine companies, such as Stress Magazine, and Ralph Mercado Management where he designed album covers and page layouts. Over the years these diverse art forms have shaped his creative identity.
